The short version
- Tidlo has no accounts. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- We do not show ads, we do not track you, and we do not measure how you use the app. The only count kept is of purchases, so we can see how many people bought Tidlo Plus.
- Every time you open Tidlo, the app connects to two outside services: Supabase, which stores the facts the app downloads, and RevenueCat, which handles purchases. Like any website or app, they can see basic details of the connection, such as your internet address. Details are below.
- Tidlo itself receives nothing about you.
What stays on your phone
These are saved only on your phone. They are never sent to us or anyone else, and deleting the app deletes them:
- the facts you liked
- your language, your categories, and whether Tidlo notifications are on
- simple counts of how many facts you have viewed and which category you view most
- a saved copy of the facts, so the app works without internet
Services Tidlo uses
| Service | What it does for Tidlo | What it can see about you |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (the database host) | Stores the facts. The app downloads them. It only reads; you never sign in. | Supabase (and its hosting provider) receive the request, so they can see your internet (IP) address, as for any download. Tidlo sends no personal details and uses no analytics or crash reporting. Supabase’s own privacy policy: https://supabase.com/privacy. The project is hosted in Europe. |
| RevenueCat | Handles purchases for Tidlo Plus and tells the app whether you have bought it. It starts every time the app opens. | A random ID made for your install (not your name or Apple ID) and your purchase history, such as whether you bought Tidlo Plus. RevenueCat’s own privacy policy says it also receives technical details such as device type and operating system, plus the time it last saw you (source: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/, read 2026-10-08). It is not linked to who you are and not used to track you. |
| Apple | Takes the payment for Tidlo Plus through the App Store and handles Restore purchases. | Apple deals with your payment under its own privacy policy. |
Other things the app does:
- Notifications are made by your phone. No server sends them.
- Share button opens the iPhone share sheet. You choose where the fact goes. Tidlo receives nothing.
- Search button on a fact opens your web browser on a Startpage search for that fact’s text. It happens only when you tap it. Only the fact text is sent, nothing about you. Startpage (a separate search engine) then treats the search under its own privacy policy. Tidlo collects nothing from this.
Why
To show you facts, to unlock what you bought, and to count purchases. Nothing else. We do not sell data.
How long it is kept
- On your phone: until you change it or delete the app.
- Purchase record at RevenueCat: kept while needed to unlock Tidlo Plus for you and for accounting. RevenueCat sets no fixed end date for it; it deletes the record when we ask it to.
- Facts downloaded from Supabase contain nothing about you.
Delete your data or withdraw your consent
- On your phone: delete the app. Everything stored on the phone goes with it.
- Notifications: switch them off in Tidlo’s Settings, or in iPhone Settings, then Notifications, then Tidlo.
- Purchase record: email contact@northlux.net and ask us to delete it. We will pass the request to RevenueCat and answer you. Because the record has no name, send us the order ID from Apple’s receipt email for your purchase, or tell us roughly when you bought. We use it to find the record, have RevenueCat delete it, and tell you when it is done. If you buy or restore Tidlo Plus again later, a new record is made.
- You can also ask us what we hold about you, or complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Tidlo is made for all ages. It is not a kids-only app. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and we collect no personal details, so there is nothing about a child to collect. Purchases go through Apple, where parents can use Apple’s own controls.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address with a new date. If we ever start collecting something new, we will update the policy first.
